7 TIPS TO GET MORE INSTAGRAM FOLLOWERS

How do I get Instagram followers? It’s a question we’ve all asked ourselves at one point or another. And with good reason, too! Getting more Instagram followers should be a top priority for any business that uses Instagram for marketing, but it’s not that easy.

1. FOCUS ON ENGAGEMENT, NOT ON FOLLOWERS

If you’re able to generate a lot of engagement on your Instagram posts shortly after posting, this signals to Instagram that your post is quality, engaging content and your post will move to the top of your followers feeds and be shown to more users.

2. ENCOURAGE FOLLOWERS TO TAKE ACTION.

If you post one of your favorite quotes, encourage people to “like” if they relate or agree. I love to ask questions and get to know my followers through the comment or DM’s on instagram.

3. FIGURE OUT WHAT YOUR AUDIENCE LIKES

Do a little research! Go back and find which ones got the most likes and comments. Figure it out and start giving people more of what they want! In my case, my followers want to see iphone pictures.

4. USE HASHTAGS

Having a solid hashtag strategy is an essential component for any Instagram and targeting a niche audience.

5. TAKE GOOD QUALITY PHOTOS WHERE EVREYTHING IS IN FOCUS

I think it really matters what camera you use (phone or SLR camera), as long as your photos are good quality. I have taken photos with both of them and i think there is a really big difference in terms of quality, so i always try to use a LSR camera to take good pictures.

6. FIND OTHERS IN YOUR COMMUNITY

It’s not called social media for nothing. You need to be social to master social media. Connect with others in your niche. If you’re a mom, find other mom Instagrammers. If you post about fashion, find other fashion bloggers.

Start with accounts in your community that are similar to yours. Similar style of photos, similar number of followers, similar aged kids if you’re a mom blogger, similar style if you’re a fashion blogger...

7. POST ONCE A DAY, EVERY DAY (or maybe twice)

In terms of posting frequency, I find one photo a day works best for most people. Personally I try and stick with one a day but will sometimes post two because the first photo didn’t perform as well and I want to get another photo in or I have too many photos to post – sometimes collaborations come in clusters.

As to the time of day, post when most of your followers are online. This will vary for everyone, but taking a look at your demographics and where the majority of your followers are located will help you know which timezone to pay attention to. Before work, during lunch break, and after work are all times people tend to check their Instagram.
